The New 2007 28 Tournament Express Newport Edition is based on the Flush Deck, but she has additional "L" shaped seating to port. She retains her very useful cockpit. We continuely are updating the site. The boat is Premeired at The Sydney International Boat Show and Later on the 3rd of August at Trawler Fest at Mystic Seaport, CT. Cockpit is Flush and Large with Optional Flip Down Transom Seat so that it is out of the way for Fishing. There is a Aft Facing Flip Down Jump Seat for the Back of the "L" Settee
Transom Door is now standard. We believe this is a must for easy boarding from the water or the dock. Alot of owners have kids or dogs or just do not feel like climbing into their boat. Also great for large fish to bring aboard. Stainless steel protects entry from wear.
FISHING MACHINE: Do not let the new seating and optional sunbrella fool you into thinking that this boat can not fish! Standard Bolsters are durable vynal and the transom seating is designed to fold into a bolster and even that is optional. We have added a true live baitwell in the transom next to the fish insulated fish box. and a huge tackle station plus the old one. Additional Rod holders, Out riggers, down riggers and lockable rod rack can be ordered.
REMOVABLE FORWARD FACING MATE SEAT: Have the best of all possible worlds. The additional seating offered by the "L" shaped settee as well as the choice of a mate facing Forward while underway. Rui, the head designer of the New Newport Edition is almost seen, seated here. He is about 6' and 200 plus lbs. He solved the storage of the seat when not in use as a jump seat! Great at the dock, especially with the Transom seating.
HARD ENCLOSURE OPTION:
The wheelhouse truely becomes a very nice saloon. The 28TE is an all weather boat; this option is perfect for when it is too cold or too hot. Or not having to bother with canvas. Wide companion way and Sliding Center Window.
